Bill Carrigan
Hello fellow beekeepers,
Last fall I had three strong hives with more than enough honey for winter. I even added the insulated cover to help with the colder weather. I didn’t have but one or two day this winters to check the hives but they appeared healthy but regardless I worked on them today and it appears I’ve lost all three hives and the only activity is robbing bees.
1- Would robbing be starting so soon?
2 – If in fact I have lost all the hives which by the way still has most of the winter honey in them. Is the only option I have is to start over which mean purchasing a new box of bees for each hive?
3 – How do I store all the remaining honey for the new bees?
4 – Is there anyone you know that might want to split a hive or hives in exchange for a full deep box of honey per hive to jump start their hive this year?
